Digital Radiography

Another one of our diagnostic capabilities that we offer to our clients here at East Lincoln Animal Hospital is digital radiography. This technology is a diagnostic tool that uses x-ray sensors instead of traditional photographic film. The advantages of digital radiography are that it provides images to our veterinarians much faster and with greater clarity than traditional film x-rays.

These digital images can be manipulated, enhanced and contrasted, as well as viewed from different angles. This manipulation capability aids in diagnostic procedures since it allows our veterinarians to see exactly what he needs to see. It also lessens the need for retakes, and cuts down on the time between diagnosis and treatment. These digital images can easily be transferred and shared electronically if necessary. With digital radiography, our experienced veterinarians can locate broken bones, fluid buildup, tumors, view enlarged organs as well as the presence of pneumonia.

LAUREN SEYMOUR, DVM

Dr. Seymour was born and raised in Northern Virginia. She is forever a Hokie after spending eight years in beautiful Blacksburg, Virginia to attend school. She also spent a semester abroad in Australia studying native wildlife and neuroscience. Dr. Seymour graduated from Virginia Tech in 2006 with a BS in Biology and Psychology, and from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine with her doctorate in 2010.

After graduation, Dr. Seymour completed a small animal internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, D.C. She then spent two years in general practice at a small animal hospital in Charlotte. In 2013 Dr. Seymour returned to Washington, D.C. to pursue advanced training in medical oncology through a specialty internship with The Oncology Service. After spending three years practicing in Western Massachusetts as an Oncology Hospitalist and Chief of Wellness Medicine, she returned to North Carolina to join East Lincoln Animal Hospital in 2017.

Dr. Seymour’s professional interests include client education and preventative care, dentistry, and internal medicine. She also has a special passion for providing cancer diagnostics, treatments and hospice care to the patients of East Lincoln Animal Hospital. Dr. Seymour also runs our Clinical Trial service, increasing our ability to offer the latest treatments and therapies for our patients.

Dr. Seymour lives in Huntersville with her husband, their Golden Retriever, and three cats. She enjoys exploring the outdoors and hiking, traveling, and watching college football (Go Hokies!).

DYLAN DUNKLE, DVM

Dr. Dunkle grew up in Denver, North Carolina. He and his three siblings enjoyed watersports and swimming on Lake Norman during their summers. Dylan’s love for animals began as a child when his first cat arrived at his house as a stray. Dr. Dunkle found great joy in caring for him and other rescue pets that came to live in the Dunkle home. His love and interest in veterinarian medicine grew with the rescue and adoption of two abandoned five pound German Shepherd puppies who ended up going away to college with him. Graduating with a bachelor’s in pre-professional biology from Montreat College, Dylan went on to veterinary school at North Carolina State University. Dr. Dunkle was one of the first members of NC State’s student chapter of the international association for animal hospice and palliative care (IMHPC) as well as being active in the student veterinary emergency and critical care society. Dr. Dunkle has a special interest in urgent care, ophthalmology, and medical oncology. When he’s not working, Dr. Dunkle enjoys reading, playing chess, and playing with his cat Luther.

TERRA BERARDI, DVM

Dr. Terra Berardi is from the San Francisco Bay Area in California. She received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Biology from the University of California, Davis in 2012. She then spent some time working in research at UC Davis and prior to heading to veterinary school. Dr. Berardi received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2017 and completed her clinical training at the University of Illinois. After graduation, Dr. Berardi worked in small animal medicine in the Chicagoland area before joining the East Lincoln team in August of 2020. Dr. Berardi has special interests in preventative care, client education, soft tissue surgery, and internal medicine.

Outside of work, Dr. Berardi enjoys spending time in the sunshine with her crazy boxer pup, Olive, and watching movies while cuddling her cat, Maverick. She also enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and playing her ukulele.

DAVID A. WILSON, DVM

Dr. Wilson is a native of North Carolina and a 1976 graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. He founded East Lincoln Animal Hospital in Denver in 1978 to provide the Denver area with the best veterinary care possible. Dr. Wilson had a vision of what the ideal veterinary hospital should be, and it is because of this vision that East Lincoln Animal Hospital is an efficient state-of-the art facility. Having been in private practice for more than 40 years, Dr. Wilson enjoys all aspects of his profession including medical, surgical and management tasks.

Dr. Wilson is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association, and the North Carolina Academy of Small Animal Medicine.

As a member of the First Baptist Church in Lincolnton, North Carolina, Dr. Wilson enjoys participating in church and family activities. He and his wife, Libby, have two children. Their son, Ben, a graduate of the University of North Carolina, is a medical doctor specializing in family medicine. Their daughter, Rebecca, is a graduate of Wake Forest University having majored in Communications.

MEGHAN HALL, DVM

Dr. Hall is from the wilds of West Virginia. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Wofford College and earned her Doctorate of Veterinarian Medicine from Ohio State University in 2010. Following graduation, she completed an internship in small animal emergency medicine and surgery at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, D.C. She continued to practice in the D.C. area for several years before joining the staff at East Lincoln Animal Hospital in 2016. Dr. Hall takes pleasure in many aspects of veterinary medicine although she has particular interest in soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and cardiology.

On her days off, Dr. Hall enjoys hiking and swimming, spending time with her dogs MJ and Lola, and snuggling with Benito, her cat. She is also an avid fan of the West Virginia University Mountaineers.

MELISSA IRVIN, DVM

Dr. Irvin is a native of Concord, North Carolina who graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 2003. She received her Doctorate degree from North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Upon the completion of her doctorate, Dr. Irvin interned at Hollywood Animal Hospital, a busy 24-hour hospital located in Hollywood, Florida. She then worked at a small animal hospital in Winston-Salem for 3 years before moving back to the local area to be closer to family.

Dr. Irvin joined the practice at East Lincoln Animal Hospital as an Associate Veterinarian in 2010. Her areas of interest include surgery, geriatric medicine as well as treating some exotics.

In her spare time, Dr. Irvin enjoys spending time with family and loved ones, reading, shopping, and going to the lake. She has a Labrador named Finley, a tortoise-shell cat named Kaia, and a leopard tortoise named Tomish.

AMANDA DEMASTER, DVM

Dr. DeMaster is from the Raleigh, North Carolina area. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from North Carolina State University in 2003 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State in 2008. Upon the completion of her doctorate, Dr. DeMaster accepted an internship in small animal medicine at Texas A & M College of Veterinary Medicine where she advanced her knowledge, gained experience and skills, and helped to teach veterinary students in the areas of internal medicine, surgery, and emergency medicine. After finishing her internship, Dr. DeMaster returned to North Carolina and worked in private practice in Durham until she joined the team at East Lincoln Animal Hospital in 2010.

Dr. DeMaster enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but her areas of special interest include internal medicine and cardiology. She is an active member of the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association, participating in many local continuing education meetings with other veterinarians from the area.

In her free time, she likes to travel, spend time with friends, and enjoy sunny days on the lake. Dr. DeMaster lives in Huntersville with her husband who is also a veterinarian. They have a very energetic pitbull mix named Jasmine and a laid back tolerant cat named Ruby.

TYLANDA JOHNSON, DVM

Having a parent in the Army allowed Dr. Johnson to live in many places abroad and all over the United States before settling down and calling Charlotte, North Carolina her home. She graduated from veterinary school in 2002 from Colorado State University and then completed a small animal medical/surgical internship in Charlotte before entering private practice. Dr. Johnson has been part of the medical staff at East Lincoln Animal Hospital since the summer of 2005. She takes pleasure in treating all small animal patients, however, Dr. Johnson’s special area of interest includes treating exotics and soft tissue surgery.

When she is away from the office, Dr. Johnson’s favorite activities include reading, salsa dancing, and going on mission trips. She has two loving dogs at home named W.T. and Ajali.

JANET CRAWFORD, DVM

Dr. Crawford grew up in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. She received her Veterinary Medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1988 and has been an Associate Veterinarian at East Lincoln Animal Hospital since 1999. Dr. Crawford loves treating all animals, but she has a special interest in feline medicine and oncology..

When she is not practicing animal medicine, Dr. Crawford enjoys outdoor activities such as walking, hiking, and riding her horses. Her house is a lively place full of pets including six dogs: Reagan, Fred, Laurel, Gunter, Marvelous, and Stella, several cats, and several horses.

BRONYA M REDDEN, DVM

Dr. Redden is from Briarcliff Manor, New York. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. Continuing her training, Dr. Redden became certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (specializing in Canine and Feline practice) in 2006, and became recertified in 2016, she is also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Redden has been an Associate Veterinarian at East Lincoln Animal Hospital since 1999. She has a special interest in challenging internal medicine cases, especially the management of animals with diabetes, Addison’s disease and Cushing’s disease, as well as oncology (cancer treatment) and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Redden also enjoys treating reptiles and exotic pets.

In her spare time, Dr. Redden enjoys reading, boating with her husband, and showing her horses. Her animal family members include two young cats, Pumpkin and Willow, a Tennessee Walker Quarter horse named Henry, and a Quarter horse named Taylor. Dr. Redden competes in barrel racing and is a member of the National Barrel Horse Association (NC District 00).
