Canine Flu "Canine Flu" has been in the news lately. Canine Influenza is an upper respiratory virus that has recently been identified in dogs. It is NOT kennel cough. The canine flu has been seen in all ages of dogs from young to old. Most dogs will have a fever, cough, and nasal discharge that may range from clear to yellow. Most dogs have mild illness but some may develop more serious illness such as pneumonia. If a dog develops secondary infections associated with the virus, it can be treated with antibiotics.
